Chelsea have officially announced that striker Armando Broya will miss the remainder of the season. And is preparing to undergo surgery after injuring the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in a preseason game against Aston Villa.

The club said: “Following a knee injury sustained during the first half of Sunday’s friendly against Aston Villa. Armando Broya underwent further assessment following the club’s return to England.
“Those scan results are unfortunately confirming damage to the anterior cruciate ligament. and needed surgery.”
“After the surgery, Armando will work closely with the club’s medical team during his recovery. And expect to miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season.”
